What do you wear to a boudoir session?

HELP! WHAT SHOULD I WEAR TO MY SHOOT?

Don't worry girl, I got you! Here's a list of common lingerie (and clothes) to wear to your boudoir session!

#1 Bra and Panty Sets

Bras: With endless sexy bra/panty sets out there the options for every body type.

Before you shop, get sized properly! Did you know 80% of women are wearing the WRONG SIZE? On camera just like under clothing, proper fit is extremely important.

One of my favorite places to start is at A Bra that Fits. After you measure up, head over to the Facebook group of the same name. Besides the proper size, there are many nuances between styles and brands including the size/shape of the underwire. I myself have to choose brands with a smaller underwire as my breast root shape is smaller.

Make sure you are spilling out when you lay down, overflowing when standing and that they are not poking into your armpits awkwardly. All of those things will limit our pose options because during your boudoir shoot you are often laying or standing in positions you would not normally be while wearing bra.

Panties: Fit the bra first, but when you get to the panties different fits matter:

Bikinis: They are skimpy so you would think they would be sexy, right? While they are the most common style of undies, they tend to not offer coverage in the right places. Opt for one that is cut high enough to not dig into the lower tummy area.

Classic Brief: Ah, the granny panty. Enough said.

High Leg Brief: Now we are making progress. Especially if you can find a cheeky or thong version.

Boyshorts: These work with certain casual looks, but I'm a pass on these.

Thongs: I prefer a high front thong, the back can be cheeky for a bit more coverage but if its covering too much, I might just have to give you a wedgie! The reason for a wedgie is because it helps give you that BBL look in camera, but in a nice natural way.

No matter what style panties you go with, do a fit check for rolling down of elastic waistbands, or elastic over our girly soft spots creating a muffin effect.

Teddies / Bodysuit / Babydoll

Similar to a one-piece swimsuit or bodysuit but with built in snaps in the crotch, generally lace or sheer. Bodysuits are a personal favorite of mine as they tend to look good on everyone! If you are concerned about showing off your arms, they even makes long sleeved ones or you can pop a robe over the bodysuit.

I am NOT a fan of babydolls, they are not flattering in photos. If you have one that is a must bring, we will work with it the best we can

Corsets / Bustiers {boo·stee·ayz}

I love the look of corsets, but they are hard to pose in due to being so stiff, they take forever to get into and they also leave tons of lines in your skin, so if you must include a corset, we will save that for last!

Bustiers on the other hand offer a similar look, while still allowing you freedom in movement.

Garter Belts / Thigh Highs:

Garters are sometimes included with a set or can be a stand alone piece. They are meant to hold up thigh highs that do not have a rubber grip, though some brands do work with garters even with the rubber grip (read the reviews)

Rubber grip thigh highs are great to wear without a garter belt as they can stay up on their own.

Shapewear:

Shapewear doesn't have to be plain, boring and nude colored. There are many sexy shapewear options out there, including lacy styles.

When trying on shapewear, do make sure you are not creating bulges on other body parts from the compression effect of the shapewear.

Regular Clothes:

You don't need to be in a strappy little lingerie outfit, you can be sexy in anything!

His Jersey? An oversized sweater, a white t-shirt or crop top, a sexy leather or jean jacket, or just jeans and a bra!
